The Village of Riverton will be celebrating its 150th year as a Village with a Sesquicentennial Celebration at Field of Dreams, 1100 Riverton Rd, Riverton, IL from July 27 to 29, 2023. This will be a fun filled, family oriented three day event. It will feature a carnival, fireworks, family activities, history of the Village display, bands, food, and vendors. It will also be held in conjunction with our 6th Annual car show fundraiser that supports the Community Policing Program for our Police Department. The weekend will conclude with a performance by a Parmalee. The majority of the activities for the weekend will be provided free of charge to our residents and any other attendees.
Thursday, July 27 will be open from 5 pm to 12 am and will feature Little Mr. and Ms. Contest, Quarter Auction, and Meet the Residents.
Friday, July 28 will be open from 5 pm to 12 am and will start with a parade and cruise in followed by Meet the Machines, Kids’ Demo Derby, Performances by Stephanie Maguire and Cory Farley with fireworks at dusk.
Saturday, July 29 will be a full day from 8 am to 12 am. The Annual Back the Blue Car Show is 10 am to 4 pm. Bags Tournament is 10 am to 3 pm. There will be Silent Auction from 10 am to 6 pm. Other activities during the day are being planned. At 3 pm, gates to the VIP area will open. Bands playing include Downstate, Leight July, Kelsey Hickman, The weekend will culminate with a headline performance by Multi-Platinum and American Country Music Group Parmalee. Parmalee has eight hits on Billboard Hot Country Songs and three #1 singles on Country Airplay charts. The evening will conclude with fireworks at dusk.
There will be a VIP area that is near the stage for Saturday night only. Tickets for the VIP area are $20 in advance and $25 day of the event. There is a limited number of tickets available for the VIP area and is standing room only. Tickets can be ordered through Eventbrite at https://www.eventbrite.com/.../riverton-sesquicentennial... or purchased in person at the Village Utility Office. Tickets go on sale April 7, 2023. Seating outside the VIP area is free for all attendees.
The carnival, history of the Village display, beer garden, food trucks and vendors will be open to the public throughout the Riverton Celebration.
